Something to think about

Ok folks, I originally started this blog at another site, so please bear with me as I duplicate it here and try to get everyone up to date. the location of the original is here ( original posts )

this will be a blog for not just the intellectuals such as myself who follow all the news and politics going on but also for the common man.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9RiqYC3lrA&feature=related while it did come from a movie placed in England, perhaps we U.S. citizens should listen to this speech carefully and think to ourselves, how much does this fit right now?
september 25th, 1789 was the birth of the bill of rights. For those of us that actually believe in what Washington, Franklin and the rest of the forefathers paved out this was an essential date. Perhaps it is time we remind this federalist society that we have not forgotten our rights as people! Many people talk about different rights in the bill of rights but how many remember the ninth amendment?

Perhaps it is time we go back and read the bill of rights.

http://www.billofrights.org/

read them carefully people for these are the founding believes that our constitution was based around.

ladies and gentlemen today we go over the 2nd most important document in the U.S. although depending on how you view it one could without doubt see it as the most important document. I, personally, think the declaration of independence is vastly more important do to the fact that without it we wouldn't be.

http://www.usconstitution.net/const.html#Preamble
on that site you will not only find the U.S. constitution but the preamble of the aforementioned document.

http://www.constitutionfacts.com/ <- on this site you will find multiple tools to help you understand the U.S. constitution.

It is vital that we all become more familiar with this document. The constitution tells you what you are entitled to as a United States citizen. This document is the very thing that makes the United States the country that it is, and without it we are not the Republic we set out to be.

Recently several senators, and congressman have admitted to not being familiar with the constitution. These are the people that are supposed to be defending your constitutional rights. If they don't know it, and we don't know it what ideals are we basing our country's decisions upon?

For those of you that have been following this thank you very much.  a special thank you to those that are at least attempting to read the U.S. constitution and the bill of rights.  I cannot stress the importance of this enough.

Now moving on, there is something that has been in the news lately and one issue has already been brought up in relation to it. So try to follow me because there is a lot of ground to cover here.

The shooting in Arizona was nothing more than a random act of a psychopath.  This should NOT be used as an excuse to further push Obamacare, especially if furthering Obamacare means keeping the policy that states that everyone is required to have health insurance or pay a fine. This has not been mentioned yet but I guarantee it will before it is over. Someone, most likely a democrat or possibly Obama himself will use this as a platform to further the agenda of the health care reform. Personally I am all for health care reform but shoving a bill down everyone's throat that no one read that clearly violates PERSONAL constitutional rights is not the answer.

Now that I have preempted the Obamacare agenda that will be brought up in light of the accused's mental history I would like to further add that this is not a gun control law.  You can pass all the laws on the planet and ban guns across the board and people like this will continue to emerge with weapons, even guns.  Chicago has some of the strictest bans on guns on the planet and this has not deterred the types that typically perpetrate these kinds of acts. Laws against owning weapons only keep the decent citizens who would follow the law from getting them.  If they are willing to kill someone why would they not be willing to break the law and get a weapon? With that said I will say that gun control does have some ground to stand on.  The average citizen does not need an automatic weapon or a semi automatic.  But that is aother issue.... this event had nothing to do with gun control!

Now the last thing I want to cover with this is the nut job church out of Kansas City that is going to protest the funeral of the little girl.  I, by many, am considered a religious zealot.  Personally I prefer the term fundamentalist as I believe that you cannot pick and choose with the Bible, you either believe it is true or  you do not.  Thus I believe things like homosexuality being wrong, abortion being wrong, and yes the RELIGION of Islam is EVIL.  But, there is nothing I have ever read or heard that can possibly begin to justify these pyschopaths protesting the funeral of a 9yr old girl that was shot at a grocery store.

Why do I bring this up?  Because there is potential legal backlash with this issue as well as the general shooting.  This all ties back to personal rights and the ninth amendment.  The church ordeal could be used as a background to start outlawing the right of individuals to peacefully assemble in protest.  With certain freedoms we must accept that sometimes the nuts slip through.

Right NOW there is already talk on Capital Hill of regulating what is said by journalists and those who report the news whether on radio or television or even print as they are trying to claim that this event is an example of how political rivalry and overzealous political feuding further perpetuated by media to gain ratings can lead to violence and the fact of the matter is that there are millions of other Americans every day who watch the same programs, read some of the same material that DO NOT go on shooting sprees.

The motive behind Jared Lee Loughner's attack in Arizona remains a mystery, but some Democratic lawmakers are looking to curb speech they claim creates an "aura of hatred" -- and are pointing to failed Republican Senate candidate Sharron Angle of Nevada as an example of the need for federal regulations.

Be aware people, your rights are in danger and they grow ever closer with each passing day of finding an excuse, any excuse to circumvent the bill of rights, the constitution and any personal rights we should have from simply being alive under God.

Our rights are a prize that we won when we declared and stood up for our freedom against the tyranical empire of England and substained when we defeated one of the most evil men in history, Adolf Hitler.

as the old song said, "keep your eyes on the prize",
Vincent
